Hi! I’m Sydney. Growing up, I took every creative subject in school that I could—from ceramics to studio art and even photographing for the yearbook. What began as required courses quickly grew into an immense passion for all things creative. I harnessed my design skills, taught myself how to code, and created an opportunity to be my own boss. I founded Blissful in 2012 to help other entrepreneurs visually tell their story and make a successful living while pursuing their passion.
I’m married to my amazing husband, Jason, and am a mother to our new baby boy, Zach (and our two crazy German Shepherds, Frankie and Josie). We call Houston home but are always up for an adventure, especially if there’s a chance to go fishing. More? Keep scrolling for some fun, random facts.
People say how my husband, Jason, and I met sounds like a Hallmark movie. Both having had a not-so-great previous relationship, neither of us had high hopes for love. But one day I was standing in the kitchen of the home I was about to purchase, and in walked the builder (Jason). We’ve been totally inseparable ever since. #soulmates
We have two rambunctious German Shepherds, who still act like puppies (even though they’re now 100 pounds each). To those who think GSDs are scary—you haven’t met Frankie and Josie. It’s hard to be afraid of a big dog constantly sporting a ThunderShirt, and another who’s scared of trash bags and pillow cases (laundry is scary, y’all...).
Although I was born and raised in Texas, I don’t have a cool Southern accent (but I do say y’all quite a bit). In fact, almost every stranger I meet tells me I sound like I’m from [Canada, Minnesota, Austria (?)]…to name a few. It normally takes a few minutes to convince people I have in fact lived in Texas my entire life.
I’ve been skydiving twice, in Australia and New Zealand. Ironically enough, I’m scared of heights and had the brilliant idea that jumping out of a plane then freefalling would help me overcome that fear. Well, it didn’t work the first time, so I tried again. Needless to say, I’m still scared of heights and probably won’t give it a third try.
I’m a huge animal lover. I may or may not be known to stop traffic in the neighborhood to help a turtle cross the road, and I always pull over to rescue a stray dog. However, I am absolutely terrified of spiders and snakes. And I strongly dislike pretty much anything that flies (birds, wasps, bees, butterflies...weird, I know).
